Comedy Night
Here are five people who were SF International Comedy Competition Semifinalists: Robin Williams; Ellen DeGeneres; Garry Shandling; Louis CK; Dana Carvey. I could go on, but you get it -- it's a benchmark.
Wanna know a sixth? Meet Dan Lewis, the NYC-based comic (not just an SF International Comedy Competition semifinalist, but also its*host*) who regularly hosts at SF Punchline and Cobb's when he's out here on the Best Coast… and has agreed to lead BF in laughter later this month!
Dan's lined up a stone-cold murderer's row of comics for us who perform regularly at the best clubs in the Bay; mark your calendars now!
PETIT AMÉRICAIN
Did you read about it here? How about here? One of the most exciting restaurants in the Bay Area right now is the pop-up by Danny Stoller (Tilth! Daytrip! Square Pie Guys! Che Fico!): “an American Brasserie cooking food of the fallen French empire.” First Wednesday in July: this is where you wanna be for dinner.
Winemaker Event: HOLLOW WINES

MOVEMBER & FATHERS
We're partnering with Fathers Brewing and the Movember Foundation (devoted to raising awareness of men's health issues) for “The Toast” – a Father's Day fundraiser on Saturday, June 20th — and we're helping them go for an all-time fundraising record.
Come in from 12 - 6 and donate to the cause! Every donor gets two drink tickets — one for you, and one for your dad — whether he's in the house with you or not!
THE WINES OF ANDREAS ZINIEL
What do you do when you learn that one of your absolute favorite winemakers in Austria is flying in for the World Cup? Why you put him to work the very next day!
Indeed, the night after Andreas watches Das Team (no really, that's what Austrians call their soccer squad!) defeat Jordan at Levi's Stadium, Andreas will – a) work through his hangover, possibly worsened by an Austrian's first encounter with American beer, and b) cross the bridge to pour some of his newest releases with Dan, who's been working with the wines since before the pandemic.

The Wines of Terraviva
Have the wines of Abruzzo finally arrived? Well, when Lebron James starts posting IG wines from his faves in the region, one's certainly forgiven for thinking that maybe southern Italy's finally caught up to its Loro Piano sweater-wearing cousins in the north. One of Abruzzo's great wineries – practicing biodynamic farming just like Lebron's beloved Emidio Pepe – is Terraviva… and we're thrilled to host Federica Topi for her first-ever tasting in the East Bay! Pecorino! Montepulciano! More!
The Big West Sneak Preview
At Best Friends, we're fortunate enough to have Big West co-founder Emily Weber as one our colleagues and homies – and so we're hosting an all-Cali Big West preview night, on Wed, 5/27! (Winemakers TBA.) Join us here for a sneak peek, and then head to Guerneville the following weekend for the whole tamale!
Summer House Reunion Watch Party
We’ve all seen the drama unfold online, now let’s get together with fellow Summer House fans and pop open some bottles for what is sure to be an epic reunion! Doors open at 7, show starts at 8. Seats are first come first serve - Best Friends should be fun! Watching alone? NOT FUN!

PIEROGIS FOR PEACE*… AND THE WEST COAST DEBUT OF SOME OF THE WORLD"S MOST EMBATTLED WINES!
This is one not to miss! The West Coast debut of never-before-seen-on-this-coast Ukrainian and Georgian wines! (Yes, many of the very same wines ballyhooed by the NY Times' Eric Asimov!) Eastern European comestibles by Ciocia Nina, the Bay Area's premiere pierogi popper-upper! And an anti-war benefit to boot!
The Salty Pearl Pop-Up
The return of the East Bay's undisputed Boss of Bivalves means: Oysters! Crudos! Housemade Trout Dip & Foccacia! Ceviche Tostadas & Lobster Rolls! They will be joined by Farm Imports, serving a flight (almost a study, really) of Loire lasers from Pépière… arguably the most textbook mineral white known to humans!
